Preserve context
- Original file and metadata when available
- Date, location, and person who captured it
- What the image is intended to show
- Multiple dates if documenting change over time
- Related medical notes or measurements
Avoid overinterpreting the image
A photograph may show a condition but not its medical cause, severity, or whether care met the professional standard. Those questions may still require clinical records and expert review.
